Jerry Pitchford

I rented an apartment at 1242 Continental Court Tallahassee FL 32304 from Jerry Pitchford for 6 months. When I first moved in I smelled a musty odor and asked Jerry to fix the problem. He always denied smelling the odor, even after i showed him mold growing on the walls, my furniture and even my clothing hanging in the closet. The carpet was damp the whole time I lived there and he refused to hire a professional to come in and figure out what was causing the moisture problems.

After months of trying to get him to fix this and numerous other problems to no avail, I ended up calling Tallahassee Code Enforcement who found 14 code violations. When Jerry was informed of this he brought over his mentally unstable son Steven Pitchford, who I asked to leave and who was trespassing in violation of my renter's privacy rights. They both harassed me for 45 minutes in front of a witness, including cursing and intimidation.

I had an itchy skin problem the whole time I lived there and eventually contracted asthma from breathing the mold, a condition I had never had before. I ended up breaking the lease in concern for my own health.

I wish someone had warned me before I had moved into the place, but you DO NOT want to rent from this man. He makes promises but rarely follows up on them. When he does try to fix something, he does it himself as cheaply as possible, even though he has no skill in fixing anything. The city code enforcement officer actually laughed at the horrible job Jerry had done in Jerryrigging the apartment. STAY AWAY!! You were warned.
